Easy Charcuterie Board

An easy and festive holiday charcuterie board with meat, cheese, pickled veggies and chocolate! No cooking needed. Ask your favorite cheese monger for selection recommendations. Try to mix textures and flavors, so you have something for everybody. The sample sizes are small, so don't be afraid of the "per pound" price. The ingredients for this entire platter were purchased at Whole Foods for less than $35.

Ingredients
  

Pickled

  • 1 jar Bolder MixUp Pickled carrots, cauliflower, mushrooms and green beans
  • 4 ounces Pickled Cherry Peppers Characterized by their mild, sweet and aromatic flesh
  • 2 ounces Sweety Drop Peppers Bold, zesty flavor accented by a tangy-sweet vinegar marinade.
  • 3 ounces Kalamata Olives A brown olive with a smooth, meaty texture in wine vinegar

Cheeses

  • .10 pound Cave Aged Gruyère An earthy and complex yellow cheese
  • .10 pound Kaasaggio Robusto Gouda An aged cheese that blends the perfection of aged gouda and with Parmesan nuttiness and taste
  • .15 pound Mitica Drunken Goat A semi-firm pasteurized goat from Spain's Mediterranean coast
  • .10 pound Mitica Quadrello di Bufala A water buffalo milk cheese produced in the Lombardy region of Italy.
  • .15 pound Isigny St. Mere Mimolette A hard cheese that is popular in the north of France
  • .2 pound Sharp Cheddar Cheese A hard yellow cheese with sharp flavor
  • .25 pound Vermont Creamery Herbed Goat Cheese A goat cheese with mild flavor and smooth texture

Meats

  • 3 ounces Olli Salamini Napoli A fresh tasting salami that is sweeter with a less acidic taste
  • 4 ounces Olli Calabrese Spicy Salame Calabrese gets its kick from cayenne pepper and paprika, making it zesty but not overpowering.

Sweets

  • 1 package Chocolove Dark Chocolate Smooth semisweet Belgian chocolate

Crackers

  • 1 box 34º Natural Crisps A fantastic cracker that lets the other ingredients shine
  • 1 loaf French Baguette slice into 1/4" rounds on the bias

Instructions
 

  • Find a large decorative platter, cutting board or marble slab to use as the base.

  • Slice any whole items into bite size pieces.
  • Begin by placing a center focus food. For this board, we used the Herbed Goat Cheese log.
  • Begin filling in the spaces with stacked piles of your ingredients. Vary your colors, textures and categories.
  • Be creative, and have fun! There is no real wrong way to place your items.
